Walkley Community Centre is planning some changes....

You may have noticed the derelict building next door to the community centre, known as the caretaker's house. As this has now been empty for over 40 years, it's deterioration is starting to affect the structure of the community centre itself. To turn a problem into an asset we are working with an architect & fundraiser to draw up plans to renovate the house & create a new rear entrance to link the two buildings.

We've had a few ideas ourselves to get the ball rolling, but we're really interested in what you have to say about what the space should be used for and how it will look. We would like to invite all hirers, centre users and Walkley folk to tell us your ideas. Please join us for tea, biscuits, chat & a design participation workshop here 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm Saturday 11th July. We will also be at Ruskin Park Fun Day on July 4th 1-6pm. Please share this with anyone you think might be interested:  ask people to fill out the postcards on the window ledge in the hall, email, draw a sketch, write us a letter, call in to see us......!
