A Star Festival themed 'Japan Day' as part of Walkley Festival. Beautiful Japanese 'Obi and Kimono' exhibition, Japanese Calligraphy, Ikebana display, Obi colouring/design competition, games, origami, singing, storytelling and stalls for Japanese food and items. All welcome including accompanied children. £1 per person (under 2's free).
Fundraising event for running the Japanese Children’s Social Group which meets weekly at Walkley Community Centre.
A chance to see the variety of glass projects underway in these weekly classes, plus a range of demos as part of Walkley Festival. There will be the opportunity to have a go at cutting glass and to enrol on the classes at a discounted price. There are 6 taster sessions over two weeks. As part of Walkley Festival, The Caretaker’s Tales (the Chrysanthemum years) 1pm, 3pm, 5pm; Shows last approximately 50 minutes. A unique family friendly promenade storytelling show all about some of Walkley’s larger than life characters from Victorian times, blending music, circus and puppetry. You’ll be rousingly entertained as performers from Cabaret Boom Boom lead the audience on a merry, quirky, history tale around the site of Walkley Community Centre.
Each show is followed by a cream tea served in the Ruskin Hall. Venue: Walkley Community Centre, 7a Fir Street, S6 3TG

Hosted by Cabaret Boom Boom's irrepressible Mr Maynard Flip Flap, the evening will be rounded off with a special guest appearance from the King himself!
